The last of the 2010 American “Big Four” All Star Games is set for tip-off from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA, on Sunday, February 20, 2011. Like the recent NFL Pro Bowl and the NHL All Star Game, the NBA All Star edition should be a game that is void of defense with an abundance of high flying offense.

For the 2nd week in a row, I’m placing $3 bets against the spread. In the coming weeks, I’ll then look at betting on “under or over totals”, which is one of the many other types of bets that you can lay.

Betting on three away teams proved costly for me as I went 1-2 in the first week of the season. The Dolphins won, the Colts left their run to late, while the Cowboys still can’t be trusted. Indianapolis Colts –3 Houston Texans defeated the Indianapolis Colts 34-24. Early last week I thought the Texans were […]

Yeh! The 2010 NFL season is finally here! And this season, I’ll be blogging as a featured NFL bettor… …but with a twist. I’ve never wagered on NFL in my entire life! Going 2-1 in any week is good, but doing it in the first week of the season is fantastic. Even if Calvin Johnson’s catch would have been called a touchdown wouldn’t have helped. Our bid to go 3-0 was over long before that play.

The Raiders allowed a touchdown late in the fourth quarter as the Rams lost 16-14 but covered the spread. The Vikings looked down right awful and nothing like a Super Bowl contender for a second straight week in losing outright to the Dolphins at home. We knew the Falcons would be better in Week Two but we didn’t see them scoring at will and piling up 41 points against the Cardinals.

We got caught in the hype that the 49ers were the class of the NFC West but they certainly didn’t look like it on Sunday. More surprisingly was the Bears playing decent defense in what turned out to be a low scoring affair at Soldier Field in Chicago.
