MLB Houston Astros vs. Los Angeles Angels Betting Lines
Two teams marred in early season slumps collide as the Los Angeles Angels host the Houston Astros in their first series as competitors in the newly aligned American League West Division. Much bigger things were expected out of the Angels while the Astros have played as we expected they would – poorly. First pitch flies at 10:05 PM EDT on Friday, April 12, 2013, from Angel Stadium of Anaheim in Southern California. We like the Halo’s to bust out the bats here!
Los Angeles Angels: Preseason chalk just dust to date
Although we are just ten or so games into the season, the Bust of the Year to date has to be the Angels of Anaheim – Ducks playoff hockey anyone? Los Angeles has rolled out a 2-7 record and their pitching staff is getting raked over the coals. The Halo’s have been outscored 53-35 by the likes of the Reds, Rangers, and Athletics. Houston rolling into town will mask the deficiencies in SoCal. RHP Tommy Hanson looks for his second win of the season after he turned in a strong performance against the Texas Rangers in an 8-4 Angels win last Saturday.
Houston Astros: Different league and logo – same sad sack results
Although they actually sit a game ahead of the Angeles, and despite the fact that they have won two straight contests, the 2013 version of the Houston Astross is in for a long season. The Stroh’s lead the Majors with 101 strikeouts (11.2 per game) but they just took two of three against the Mariners by a 24-15 final score. RHP Bud Norris, the ace of the Houston pitching staff, heads to the hill desperately trying to improve on the 3-12 (6.94 ERA) record he posted during 18 starts on the road last season. We don’t see that trend changing tonight Bud.
Angels vs Astros Online Betting Odds and Advantage Sports Betting Prediction
Despite how bad the Halo’s have played to open the season, they are still fairly thick chalk at the williamhill.com online sportsbook. Los Angeles are home favorites at -1.5 (+110) ATS and -180 on the money line. Houston are road pups at +1.5 (-130) on the run line and +160 S/U while the Over/Under is posted at 7 runs (O -115 U +105). We have looked at this contest from every angle and we are going to hunker down with the Halo’s and the -180 ML at William Hill.
