2010 NFL Week 2 Picks Recap: 1-1 Not So Bad For Early Season
The public was murdered on their picks this week and the sportsbooks cleaned up. So we can’t be too displeased with our 1-1 record. Honestly, we could have easily been 0-2. We are thankful for the split and a season record of 3-2.
It was difficult for us to find match-ups and pointspreads that we could take advantage of in Week 2, and we were half-tempted to take the week off. But being the gamblers whom we are, that wasn’t an option. We took the challenge head on and released two plays.

Philadelphia Eagles -6
Michael Vick played like he was in a time warp. He shook every ounce of rust off prior to stepping on the field. Even though he passed for 284 yards and two touchdowns, it wasn’t enough to cover the spread. The Eagles’ defense struggled against the Jahvid Best. The Lions’ running back ran for 78 yards and two touchdowns; he also caught nine passes for 154 yards and another touchdown. Shaun Hill didn’t look like the quarterback who couldn’t win the starting job in San Francisco. Though he threw two interceptions, he also totaled 335 passing yards and two touchdowns. The Eagles had taken a 28-17 lead into the fourth quarter and were heading for the easy cover. However, the Lions scored a touchdown for the backdoor cover with 1:55 left in the game. It was a tough pill to swallow, but the Lions didn’t play as bad without Stafford as we thought they would.
NY Giants/Indianapolis Colts Over 48 Points
We lost on a back door cover in the Eagles’ game, and we won on a back door cover in Giants/Colts game. Peyton Manning was having his way with the Giants’ defense, and Dwight Freeney was having his way with Eli Manning. The Colts were leading 38-7 in the fourth quarter with less than two minutes to play, but the Giants recovered a fumble on the Colts’ 31-yard line. Eli Manning hooked up with Hakeem Nicks on the first play of the drive to bring the total to 52 and cover the over by four points.
