Packers vs Steelers – Super Bowl XLV Predictions: Are you ready for some football? Super Bowl Sunday is always a little bitter sweet as it brings us the biggest game of the year, but alas, it is also the last game of the year. As they always do, the last 26 weeks, that have been the NFL 2010-11 season, flew past in a blink of an eye.

The sweet side is pretty sweet though as the Green Bay Packers will collide with the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV live from Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Sunday, February 6, 2011, at 6:30 PM ET.

Packer vs Steelers Equals A Very “Super” Super Bowl

Though there were times in the 2010 NFL regular season that no one thought this would be the Super Bowl XLV match-up, we are more than satisfied that these two teams are set to do battle on Super Bowl Sunday. For the Steelers, it’s the “Stairway To Seven” while the Packers will try to become the fourth team with at least four Super Bowl Championships. The Steelers have six rings while the Cowboys and 49ers have five each.

We have two proud and legendary franchises, two punishing defenses, two great quarterbacks, a host of star players on both sides of the ball and perfect weather under the dome in the state of the art Cowboys Stadium. In our opinion, all that is missing is Pat Summerall and John Madden or the famed Monday Night Football crew of Frank Gifford, along with late greats Howard Cosell and “Dandy” Don Meredith doing the play-by-play of the game. We are definitely ready for some football!

Pittsburgh Steelers Have Experience – Green Bay Packers On A Huge Roll

Very strong arguments can be made for both sides in this game as it is one of the more difficult Super Bowl games to call in recent memory. The Steelers have the experience as 13 players on their current roster played on their Super Bowl XL and Super Bowl XLII Championship teams.

For their part, no team has been on a bigger roll heading into the big game than the Packers. Green Bay will be playing in what amounts to their sixth straight playoff game as they have faced elimination every week since Week 16 of the NFL regular season.

These two teams are so close in talent that we are of the opinion that this could be the first Super Bowl in NFL history that goes into overtime. That would definitely be a fitting end to what should become an instant classic in Super Bowl lore.

After looking at this game from every angle, and giving it thorough thought, we are going to side with the Green Bay Packers. With the fast track in Dallas playing to their advantage as well as being the healthier of the two teams, the Packers just seem to be a team of destiny this season. While we wouldn’t bet the farm on it, we see the Vince Lombardi Trophy heading back to “Title Town USA” when all is said and done.
