How to Play the Game

To play Omaha Poker online you must have enough credits to place a blind bet and a regular bet.

The players to the left of the Dealer begin the Omaha poker game by posting blind bets, there are two blinds bets each hand. The player on the Dealer's left posts a small blind bet and the player on the small blind's left posts a big blind bet. These are the only two players who throw money into the pot each hand-unless you are playing a game with special rules, like in an Omaha poker tournament. The Dealer's position at the table changes after every game. The dealer button (D) shows the Dealer's position at the table. This is the best position to be in, because the player on the button will always act last, giving you the advantage of knowing who folded and who raised their bet.

Each player is dealt four pocket cards in Omaha Poker.

In the first round, the player to the big blind's left plays first and can either:

Call
Raise

In the first betting round, betting is capped at one bet and three raises per player.

In the second betting round, three community cards are dealt. This is called the Flop. A round of betting follows and players can either:

Fold
Call
Raise

In the third betting round, a fourth community card is dealt. This is called the Turn.

In the fourth betting round, a fifth and final community card is dealt. This is called the River Card. The final round of betting follows. The remaining Players then use two of their pocket cards and three of the community cards to create the best five-card high hand possible.

One important thing to note is that winning hands must consist of two pocket cards and three community cards. This differs from Texas Hold'Em where players could use all five community cards to make the best hand. If you are a Texas Hold'Em player, this is one important rule to remember.
