Synopsis
Aya, a young Ivorian woman in her early thirties, says no on her wedding day, to everyone’s astonishment. After emigrating to Asia, she works in a tea export shop with Cai, a 45-year-old Chinese man. Aya and Cai fall in love but can their affair survive the turmoil of their past and other people’s prejudices?

Déçue de la fin
Tres lent et confus
L’ambiance très réussie de vie de quartier au sein de Guangzhou qui mélange par la musique et les interactions deux cultures de manière sensorielle et apaisée est vraiment la qualité principale du film. Cependant le constat final semble plein d’amertume et de désespoir. Mais malheureusement le film a parfois l’air un peu bricolé avec certains raccords maladroits ou flashbacks étrangement intégrés au récit, que l’on croirait pensés au moment du montage pour pallier à certains manques dans l’écriture. Un film en demi teinte.
Tout en douceur
Une africaine s'enfuit le jour de son mariage. On la retrouve, on ne sait comment, dans le quartier "chocolate city" de Shanghai où elle est employée chez un marchand de thés. Improbable, poétique, esthétiquement superbe, dépaysant et onirique. J'ai aimé.
