Un bijou de comédie britannique, à la fois élégante et complètement folle. John Cleese et Charles Crichton orchestrent un ballet d’escrocs où tout le monde trahit tout le monde, jusqu’à l’absurde. Kevin Kline est irrésistible en crétin mégalo persuadé d’être un génie, Jamie Lee Curtis hypnotise chaque plan, et Michael Palin apporte ce grain d’humanité sous la cruauté du gag. C’est drôle, cruel, un peu sexy — et furieusement précis dans sa mécanique.
