Synopsis
Paul, is an ordinary man who divides his life between his shipbuilding company, his wife Elise and their daughter Mia. During a sea trip, Paul finds himself confronted with a strange, unexplained meteorological phenomenon. From then on, Paul shrinks inexorably, without science being able to explain why or be of any help to him. When, by accident, he finds himself a prisoner in his own cellar, and while he is only a few centimeters tall, he will have to fight to survive in this banal environment that has become perilous. During this experience, Paul will find himself confronted with himself, with his humanity, and will try to answer the great questions of existence.

95 reviewsJe suis déçue, je m’attendais à un truc fantastique avec des gros moments de tension. Résultat : le film est plat, fade. Je ne vois pas trop où le film veut en venir, la moral me semble peut pertinente.
Sans faire de comparaison avec la version de 1957 qui forcément a un charme fou, on retrouve la même chronologie, les mêmes dangers : le chat , l araignée .. celui ci a une première partie centrée sur l homme et sa famille, pas du tout attachant , auquel on ne peut pas s identifier, ce qui nous laisse assez froid face à son phénomène de rapetissement. La seconde partie est plus intéressante , au niveau de la mise en scène, de sa survie, , mais toujours rien au niveau humain, et la voix off est lourde de philosophie sur l inexorable
Réussi sur la forme mais trop sombre, manquant de force et de substance et alourdit par une voix off superflue.

Franchement je m’attendais à un truc un peu con avec Jean Dujardin qui rétrécit, un délire presque comique. Mais en fait pas du tout. C’est super intime, presque triste. Plus il devient petit, plus on sent qu’il disparait du monde et de la vie des autres, et ça m’a mis un petit coup au bide. Les décors deviennent immenses, presque flippant, et lui a l’air tellement fragile. C’est simple mais touchant. Pas parfait, parfois un peu lent, mais Un film discret, humain.
