Summary
The Porsche Museum, located in the Zuffenhausen district of Stuttgart, Germany, is a must-visit for automobile enthusiasts. Opened in 1976, the original museum was a small establishment housing around 20 exhibits. It was later upgraded and extended in 2009, with the new museum costing around 100 million euros. The museum stands near Porsche Headquarters and covers a display area of 5600 square meters, featuring over 80 exhibits, including many rare cars and historical models. The museum was designed by Delugan Meissl Associated Architects, with the exhibition spaces designed by HG Merz. The museum functions as a "rolling museum" with rotating exhibits from a stock of 300 restored cars, many in pristine condition and still in full driving order. The focus is firmly on the vehicles showcased, with all other elements designed to complement the cars. The museum is as flexible as it is exclusive, functioning as a home base for the vehicles. It officially opened its doors to visitors on 31 January 2009.
